'Classic' Cola Deal
Posted by Matt Shivan on 7 Sep 2002
At a press conference today it was announced that OSW has inked a deal with the Coca-Cola Company naming Classic Coca-Cola as OSW's official soft drink. Not surprisingly, the deal was passed due to heavy petitioning by "Classic" Clay Vendetta, who was also signed to an endorsement contract as part of the deal.
"I'm thrilled to be representing Coca-Cola; I mean, c'mon, it takes a true Classic to appreciate the greatness of Classic Coca-Cola," Vendetta said. As part of the deal, Coca-Cola will have exclusive rights to all backstage drinks including soda machines and Powerade coolers. Those drinks will of course be free to all OSW wrestlers and personalities.
"Though you KNOW what I'll be drinking, there'll also be Sprite and Vanilla Coke for the rest of those goddamn hippies backstage," Vendetta said.
Backstage reaction was positive. "This is the most glorious day in OSW history," said A/V technician Mike LaSandra, before retreating to his electronic lair with a hand-cart loaded with cases of Mr. Pibb. Though no terms of the deal were released, it seems that both OSW and Vendetta will be compensated heavily for the product placement.
